Womb
My parents were thirsting for their first offspring which was not to be theirs for nearly a decade. At last when I was conceived in my mother's womb the joy of my parents knew no bounds. Being zamindar, my father was eager to have a baby boy to carry on his legacy. My birth as a female child disappointed him but he was still optimistic that he would father a male child in due course. So this was the first disappointment to my father. When I was 6 month old infant tragedy struck our family. My mother while washing cloth in flowing river adjacent to our village slipped and washed away to an unknown destination. My father could not control his grief and he got frustrated .Other family elders started pinpointing me for all that is happening and squarely blamed my inauspicious birth as a girl child. This was the second disappointment for my father. When I was still in the cradle elders in the family and villagers coaxed my father to go for second marriage for meeting dual responsibility of taking care of me and to get a male child from his second wife to continue the legacy. So I was now under the care of my step mother. In due course my step mother gave birth to a baby boy which brought happiness to my father. In the mean while my step mother began to ill treat me. Even though' I was just a 2 year kid I was forced to do odd jobs beyond my age. Frequent beatings were order of the day. An elderly grand ma (mother's aunt) seeing my plight took me to her poverty ridden house. My father was a silent spectator to the whole drama.
Child hood
I grew up in my granny's place without basic food, clothing and school as my granny could not afford it .Tragedy struck me when I was ten years, as suddenly my granny expired. I had not seen my father after I was thrown out of his house and I was too young at that time to recall his memory. With no shelter, no food and roof to live I was onto the street begging for a living. This was my plight, even though' I was a legitimate daughter of a rich zamindar. My father came to know of my where about and he took me away not disclosing his identity and secretly got me married to a man double my age. With his reputation and secrecy in tact my father totally slipped out of my life.
Wife
My family comprised of my parent in laws, sister in-law and husband. My mother in-law and sister in-law always insulted me for no reasons at all. My husband was very short tempered and he would occasionally beat me. There was no love last between us. I was never allowed to display my inherent talent in music, drawings and other curriculums. My mother in law being orthodox never gave me any sort of freedom eighther within or out side the house. I was a prisoner under house arrest. After several years of our marriage, I conceived and gave birth to twins-one boy and a girl.
Mother
The boy like his father grew up with tantrums, short temper and arrogance. He was pampered by my in-laws and husband, being a male, while my daughter was always looked down. Many times my son use to scold and ill treat me with the tacit support of his father. Thus even as mother my agony continued. My son could not complete his education while my daughter graduated with flying colors. We solemnized her marriage to a well educated boy and she settled down in the city of Bangalore. My parent in law expired within a span of a year. As I was so accustomed to their daily scolding and tantrums sudden vacuum created in me when they expired and it took some time for me to overcome the albeit. My sister in-law got married and settled down else where. Soon my health started deteorating I was in and out of hospital for some serious ailments. Even though I was not in pink of health I was able to take care of my pregnant daughter and my grand children post delivery. At least my Daughter's family with 2 children was a happy lot and I was contended. With no proper education, no job my son started drinking and smoking. His bad habits led him to addiction and he started steeling money from his father valet to fulfill his habits. We tried to rehabilitate him by financing him for an automobile business. But that also he squandered. We thought by marrying him off he would get responsibility and change for the better. Things became still worse after marriage. He started demanding share in our property and things came to such a level that he scolded and booted me in front of his wife. My husband never intervened. It was too humiliating and frustrating for me. I decide to end my life and jumped into the well. But fate had other things stored. I was risked and given treatment. I could not take the humiliation of people seeing me in suspicious manner and I wanted to go away from the inhabitants. My husband at last realized his folly .He sold his property and we set out for a new life away from the maddening crowd. I totally wanted to cut off any relation with my son. We settled down at a remote place away from Bangalore with a fair comfort level.
Mercenary
I was slowly settling in with a fair amount of satisfaction that my husband of over 30 years at last started showing concern. I felt a silver lining in an otherwise dark and struggling life. But this little happiness was short lived. God was not prepared to grant me even a little peace of mind. I received a call from a hospital in bangalore stating that my son is seriously fallen ill and has to be operated. I panicked and rushed back to Bangalore with my husband. My son was in ICU and he needed kidney transplantation as it was damaged due to excessive drinking habits. His blood count was very low . His chances of survival was very bleak. Even tho' I had owed never to see my son again after those traumatic incidences still the mother in me could not see him struggling to survive. His wife had deserted him and he was all alone. I silently wept and prayed the almighty for his recovery. one of my kidney was transplanted to him .By god's grace I could donate suffcient bottle of blood for his survival. At that point of time I realized why God is not willing to give me mukti. I had an important role to play and that is to give rebirth to my almost dead son. By god's grace he survived and recovered fast. Slowly I reconciled to the development but I had to face the most tragic event of my life with sudden passing away of my husband. This virtually made me an orphan.
At this point of time I completely lost drive to live and I begged the almighty to take me away from this wretched world.
Tomb
At last one fine morning when I was still in sleep I saw the almighty arriving in his golden chariot and taking me away to a far off destination telling me that I have completed the karma for the sins I committed in my previous birth and for all the Good I have done in this birth, I need not be born again. That moment I felt the greatest happiness. Finally my soul rested in peace for ever.
Is it not worth the struggle all thro'…..
