Dish Tv Antenna Installation
The main job of a dish antenna is to collect the high quality digital signal from geosynchronous satellite. Therefore it is extremely important to perfectly align the antenna so as to get the best quality reception. If you do not then you would not be able to get the best picture quality in your television set.
Alignment of a Dish TV antenna is not so difficult. You can easily do it on your own. All you need is proper tools such as nut driver, adjustable wrench, coaxial cables, screw drivers and mast hardware to do this on your own. You need to see that the antenna is located in an open space and you must also ensure that the signal path is free from any sort of obstruction such as trees and tall buildings.
Now since you have known some few facts regarding the installation of dish TV antenna, let’s discuss the steps that are involved in successful installation of an antenna.
STEP – 1
First of all, you need to do some calculation regarding the three main co-ordinates, which are elevation, azimuth and tilt. The dish antenna is a part of a satellite TV kit in which a Satellite Receiver is also included. You need to connect the receiver with your existing television set. Once you do it, you’ll get to see the instructions regarding the calculation of co-ordinates on your television screen. The co-ordinates vary according to a place’s zip code and therefore you need to enter the zip code of your residential address. After entering the zip code, further instructions regarding the fine tuning of the dish antenna will pop up on your TV screen. You need to follow those instructions very carefully.
STEP – 2
You need to place the antenna is a suitable place where it can have proper reception from the geosynchronous satellites that are hovering in space. You must maintain nineteen degree elevation angle. At this angle, the antenna would be able to get unobstructed signals from all three geosynchronous satellites. Don’t forget to face the dish antenna to the southern skies since the satellites are placed in that direction.
STEP – 3
After going through the first two steps, it is time for you to follow the step, which is regarding the installation of the mast. This is an important step in antenna installation since there can be some possibilities of getting signals of various satellites. The base of the antenna must be mounted firmly. A bubble level is given with the must that would help you to keep the bubble at the center.
STEP – 4
In this step, you need attach the mast and to do that you need to slide the antenna assembly to the pivot point. Use the Azimuth bolts for this purpose and don’t forget to tighten it.
Various other steps such as cable routing and grounding, fine tuning and the attachment of Low Noise Blocks (LNB) are also involved in making a perfect dish antenna installation.
Installation of a dish antenna is quite a risky job. So you must take all the necessary precaution before proceeding forward.
